To plant:
Soak certificate in water until soft. Place on seed raising mix (in pot or ground). Lightly cover with more mix, water and keep moist.
Germination should take 7 - 21 days.
We've found our little girls love to watch the paper 'grow' sitting on-top of wet cotton wool in a tray!
Callistemon citrinus (Lemon-scented Bottlebrush)
A native of
NSW, QLD & VIC, it prefers light to medium soils in a moist, sunny
position and is frost resistant but drought tender. An evergreen shrub,
it grows to a height of 3.5m with a spread of 2m. The stem is variable
and stiff; the leaves are broad, flat, 7cm long and lanceolate; the
flowers are red spikes, 10cm long appearing all year round.
